Organizational Vision

We are a tech training program that uses video game design, development, DevOps and mixed media to create diverse talent, train youth for the tech ecosystem and prepare them for college, career and civic life. 

Overview:

Instructor has the knowledge & ability to teach the foundations of Linear algebra which includes mathematics concerning linear equations, vector spaces and matrices. Instructor will be teaching a combination of high school and college level students. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor student progress and assist students in accomplishing established learning objectives.
  • Interact independently with students in person and virtually using distance education technologies, primarily Google Apps, Meet and Gmail.
  • Provide timely feedback to students on coursework and progress.
  • Promptly replying to emails, providing detailed feedback on assignments. 
  • Communicate with students and the program team to resolve any course related issues.
  • Additional duties include the development of course related materials; updating and developing curriculum; and working closely with the program team and advisory committee on course related issues.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • At least 3 years teaching or tutorial experience at college level in mathematics.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Required Education and Related Work Experience:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in mathematics or a related field is highly recommended. 
  • Experience in teaching, tutoring mathematics in person and online.

Schedule 

This is for a 90 minute class on Saturdays from April 13th – June 8th.

Compensation

$139/hour at 3 hours/week for 6 weeks.
