Gameheads and Xbox Celebrate Black History Month
As an extension of our 5 year partnership with Xbox, Gameheads and Xbox would like to showcase our Black game developers and to celebrate and preserve Black history through stories, characters, culture and talent.
To kick start this initiative we want to highlight Studio Hitsuji composed of several Gameheads veterans including Kai Nyame Abbey and Joseph Hooker.
Studio Hitsuji is a diverse indie game studio aiming to bring wonder and whimsy into the lives of others. With a focus on accessibility and ease of use, we immerse our players in worlds that work with their needs instead of against them.
HighSidin’: Hyphy Edition
Represent the culture of the Bay Area through a competitive dance battle game that utilize dance moves that are native to Northern California street culture. The world of HighSidin’ puts a legalized twist on classic sideshow culture, an illegal event where people perform and watch illegal automobile performances. Team HS now work at Crystal Dynamics, Insomniac Games and Full Circle.
Developed by Team Bruja Bros, Camino is a 2D side-scrolling stealth game that challenges the player to carefully manage resources and make use of their environment to fight for their loved ones. Players must survive the onslaught of colonization. You’ll find Team BB working with Double Fine, Insomniac Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment and LaunchDarkly.
Iyassu Allen and Kahli George developed this nice little snack of a game in 2024. In SplitMaze, players must navigate two Players simultaneously, strategize their movements, and overcome obstacles to reach their goals.
The Last Day
Created by Brandon Charles, The Last Day is a top-down 2D shooter about fending off waves of enemies to escape the zombie apocalypse. Fight zombies, collect new weapons types, and defeat the leader to survive the hoard. Mr. Charles now works for Industrial Light & Magic.
Snap Shot: Slice Of Life
SnapShot: A Slice of Life is a visual novel slash video game where you play as Sam, a Bay Area kid who hangs out with his friends in college while taking pictures and capturing memories. Members of Team SnapShot have worked for Ubisoft and Insomniac Games
Where's My Chain??
Developed by Team o7, Where's My Chain!? is a 2D top down puzzle game, where you play as a young man searching for a lost family heirloom. The player must find puzzle pieces scattered around the house, navigate through challenging mental puzzles, acquire the last puzzle pieces and find yo’ chain!
