In partnership with Lili’uokalani Trust, Gameheads Hawaii teaches video game design, development, DevOps and mixed media to low income students and Native Hawaiian youth ages 15 – 24. We envision a world where our kamali’i are equipped to thrive and succeed in any field they choose, particuarly the tech and video game industries.
We focus on workforce development, educational development, STEAM education, college preparation and social and emotional learning to prepare students for college, career and civic life. Additionally, we focus on diversity, multiculturalism and youth empowerment. We use video games as a carrot, delivery system and an educational tool which increases relate-ability, engagement, production and behavioral change.
