Gameheads: Hawaii

In partnership with Lili’uokalani Trust, Gameheads Hawaii teaches video game design, development and multimedia to low income and Native Hawaiian youth ages 15 – 25. We envision a world where our kamali’i on the Hawaii islands are equipped to thrive and succeed in an ever changing tech landscape.

Gameheads: Hawaii Programs

We focus on workforce development, educational development but also STEAM education, college preparation and social and emotional learning. Our goal is to increase STE(A)M participation of Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (NHPI) and to prepare them for college, career and civic life. We use video games as a carrot, delivery system and an educational tool which increases relateability, engagement and personal/cultural expression while students are learning valuable 21st century skills through a combination of fine arts and tech education.

I really hope that in five years the students I have right now are able to go to college. That's a goal I have is to make sure they can go to college.
